Stay Strong.
Lead Well.

A 10-month leadership programme for women who want to lead with more confidence, more clarity, and in a way that feels genuinely sustainable — building the skills the role requires, understanding what quietly gets in the way, and looking after the person doing the leading.

Who this is for

You are good at your job. You care about the people you lead and you take the responsibility seriously.

You are also probably finding that the role asks more of you than anyone fully prepared you for. You are managing people, managing upward, holding your team together, and trying to keep performing, all at the same time.

The pressure is real. The expectations are high. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, you have stopped asking what you actually need. Work has quietly taken over more than you intended. The balance you were hoping to find feels further away than ever.

You may have lost a little confidence, taken on too much, avoided a conversation you should have had, or found yourself reacting in ways that don't feel like the leader you want to be. You know that your work, your team, and the people at home are not always getting the best version of you. That is not a failure. It is what happens when the role grows faster than the support around it.

This programme is for the woman who is ready to look a little more honestly at how she leads — to understand what is driving her behaviour, to build the skills the role actually requires, and to find a way of leading that feels right for her.

What changes

Ten months from now, you will lead differently.

You will have a clearer sense of what drives you, what gets in your way, and how to work with both.

You can expect to leave with:

A clear understanding of your own leadership patterns and what drives your behaviour under pressure

Greater confidence in your voice, your judgement, and your ability to back yourself when it matters

Practical tools for having the conversations you have been avoiding

A different relationship with delegation — and with the standards you hold onto too tightly

Better habits around your energy, focus, and capacity — and greater resilience for the moments when leading is hard

A cohort of peers who have walked the same ten months alongside you

A personal leadership practice to carry forward beyond the programme

What makes this different

The intellectual, the emotional, and the physical — all held together.

Leadership development has traditionally focused on knowledge. The right frameworks, the right models, the right language. While that matters, it only takes you so far. What it rarely addresses is the person carrying it all — how she feels on the day of a difficult conversation, what happens to her thinking when she is exhausted, and how the patterns she developed long before she became a leader are still quietly running the show.

Leadership skills

Building and sustaining high-performing teams, delegation, difficult conversations, managing performance, thinking clearly under pressure, leading through change, and influencing at every level of the organisation. The skills the role actually requires — developed in the context of your real working life.

Self-awareness

Understanding the patterns that drive your behaviour at work, building confidence and self-trust, recognising how you react under pressure, and finding a better balance between work and the rest of your life. Because how you lead on the inside shapes everything that happens on the outside.

Energy & Wellbeing

Managing your energy and capacity so you can lead without running on empty. Understanding the impact of perimenopause and menopause on your focus, confidence and performance, and developing the awareness to support the women in your team going through the same. You cannot lead well from a place of depletion. This part of the programme takes that seriously.

How it works

Structured enough to keep you moving. Flexible enough for a full life.

01

Monthly taught content

One core leadership theme each month, with frameworks, reflection, and practical tools. Designed to be worked through in your own time, around an unpredictable schedule.

02

Fortnightly live group calls

The first call of each month introduces the theme. The second is for application, reflection, and peer learning. This is where the real work happens — bringing your actual situations and live challenges into the conversation.

03

Your personal leadership agenda

You begin with your own goals. A structured thread runs through the programme so the learning stays rooted in what matters to you — with built-in review points at Month 4 and Month 8.

04

A private learning community

A dedicated space to connect with your cohort and with Jo between calls. One of the most consistent things participants describe is the relief of being alongside people who genuinely understand what they are carrying. Knowing you are not alone in it changes something.

The curriculum

Ten months. One clear theme at a time.

Each month builds on the last. The leadership content gives you the tools and frameworks. The inner work helps you understand what gets in the way of using them.

Month 1

Knowing yourself as a leader

Leadership styles, strengths profiling, and values clarification.

Understanding the patterns you developed early in life that drive your behaviour at work. Beginning to notice the impact of your emotions, language, and body language on the people around you.

Month 2

Understanding your role and managing your team day to day

Clarifying where you have genuine influence, building team culture and managing team dynamics, creating an environment where people do their best work, performance conversations, motivation, and running effective meetings.

Why we avoid the conversations we most need to have, and how to change that without losing warmth.

Month 3

Delegation and letting go

Models of delegation, building team capability, and accountability frameworks.

The pattern of holding on too tightly. Why high-performing leaders struggle to delegate and what it costs them and their teams. Understanding how your approach to delegation shapes the confidence and capability of your team — and what a high-trust team culture actually feels like to be part of.

Month 4

Confidence and self-trust

Building credibility, making your voice heard, and backing your own judgement.

The self-doubt pattern. How it shows up at work, why it intensifies under pressure, and how to work with it rather than against it.

Month 5

Difficult conversations

Communication models, feedback frameworks, and managing conflict constructively.

The emotional patterns that surface in hard conversations. Staying grounded when things get tense.

Month 6

Energy and sustainability

Managing capacity, protecting focus, and leading without running on empty.

Understanding the impact of perimenopause and menopause — both on your own performance and on the women in your team. Developing the self-awareness to recognise what is affecting the people around you, respond with sensitivity, and create conditions where everyone can continue to do their best work.

Month 7

Thinking clearly under pressure

Decision-making frameworks, managing cognitive load, and strategic thinking.

The stress response and what it does to your ability to think clearly. Practical grounding tools for high-pressure moments.

Month 8

Managing up and sideways

Leading and influencing across the organisation, navigating complexity, and building relationships at every level — including upward.

Leading from quiet confidence rather than needing approval. Staying true to yourself while working within a system.

Month 9

Leading through change and uncertainty

Change management principles, communicating through transition, and managing resistance.

Your own relationship with uncertainty. The patterns that surface when the ground is moving, and how to stay rooted.

Month 10

The leader you are becoming

Personal leadership philosophy and planning your next step.

Integration of everything from the ten months. A return to your personal agenda — where you started and where you are now. Building a leadership practice to carry forward.

What participants of Jo's programmes have said

In their own words.

"Jo expertly helped me navigate through a very difficult work situation. It came just at the right time. Jo gave me the confidence to challenge matters that were causing a lot of stress."
Jess
"Learning how to pause, reflect, and choose how you respond rather than reacting in the moment — that shift alone has been hugely valuable. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to lead more consciously."
Fiona
"I've learned that I don't have to just push through or react automatically. I can pause, reflect, and reconnect with my values. This isn't just something you learn and move on from — it stays with you."
Andreia
"I was interested in this because I had lost confidence in myself and allowed self-doubt to influence my decisions. The course exceeded my expectations. I have practical strategies I will definitely take forward — as well as a very different relationship with how I respond."
Michelle
"You know a course is truly worthwhile when you don't even question whether you can fit it in each Sunday — you simply plan your day around it because you know it's going to be insightful. Over the weeks, we explored how we can better understand our protective patterns when under pressure, recognise them early, and take proactive steps to avoid slipping back into them."

About Jo Urquhart

She has led. And she has lived it too.

Jo Urquhart has over 25 years of senior leadership experience, including twelve years as CEO of two organisations. She has led through complexity, managed boards, navigated public pressure, and carried the particular weight that comes with being responsible for an entire organisation and the people within it — while also being a wife and a mother to two boys.

At 49, she relocated from Scotland to Italy — a decision that asked her to trust herself in a way no leadership manual had prepared her for. That experience, alongside everything she learned over two decades of real organisational life, sits at the heart of what she brings to the women she supports.

Her approach is part coaching, part mentoring, and always grounded in direct experience of the role. She supports women to think clearly, trust their judgement, and lead in a way that genuinely works for them.
